The House of Damper Workshop Series

Expanding STEM Beyond Stereotypes

At The House of Damper, we believe in redefining what STEM looks like for underrepresented students. Our signature three-part workshop series introduces students to the worlds of Equine Science and Wine Science (Oenology & Viticulture)—fields rarely presented to Black youth and other marginalized communities. These interactive, hour-long sessions are designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and reveal real pathways to academic and career success in multi-billion-dollar industries.

Workshop 1: Intro to Equine & Wine Science

Students explore the fundamentals of genetics, reproduction, and scientific careers within equestrianism and wine. Hands-on activities, Punnett squares, and anatomy exercises bring these concepts to life.

Workshop 2: Equine & Wine STEM & Technology

Focusing on the future of STEM, this workshop showcases cutting-edge tools—AI in breeding, veterinary technology, vineyard drones, and biomechanics. Students see how science and innovation transform tradition into progress.

Workshop 3: STEM Beyond Stereotypes

This capstone session empowers students to think bigger, addressing how equine and wine sciences open doors to generational wealth, entrepreneurship, and leadership. Students leave inspired to break barriers and reimagine what’s possible for their futures.

Why it matters: Our workshops don’t just teach science—they ignite ambition. Students gain exposure to careers and industries often hidden from them, proving that they belong in every space of innovation, leadership, and wealth-building.

“Ride through the journey of possibilities and watch your dreams gallop towards the horizon. Your story is meant to intertwine with the spirit of the horse, guiding you to new heights. Embrace the adventure that lies ahead!”
